Timber Castle

This children’s castle was constructed on a small area of garden using Leylandii which were felled on site. All of the felled material was used, including the branches which were chipped to provide the ground surfacing.

Cladding was brought in to produce the upper deck area. This was made from Larch and Douglas Fir sourced locally from Wray Castle. The only other materials to be brought in were the ropes for the bridge and climbing net and a slide. This created a unique and durable play area from trees which would otherwise have been disposed of as firewood.
